Frankfort is the capital city of the Commonwealth of Kentucky in United States. It is also the county seat for the Franklin County.
The city of Frankfort sits in a beautiful valley in the Bluegrass Region of Kentucky. Having a rocky and gently rolling terrain, the land is suitable for agriculture. The city is divided into the north and south sides by the Kentucky River.
Due to its location in the northern extreme of the south-eastern United States, the climate of Frankfort is a blend of the humid subtropical climate and the humid continental climate. The city has an average annual temperature of 12.7°C; January has a mean temperature of –1°C while July has a mean temperature of 23.9°C.
The population of Frankfort is approximately 27,800 where majority of the population is employed in public administration.

To enjoy the flora and fauna of the city, visit the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Game Farm. The famous Bourbon Chocolate Balls was invented here in by Rebecca Ruth Candy Factory. Visitors must try them at Rebecca Ruth Candy shop on the East Side of town. Frankfort celebrates a number of festivals throughout the year, some of which are the Capital Expo Art and Crafts Festival, Kentucky Herb Festival, the Great Pumpkin Festival and the Kentucky Book Fair.
