Louisville is the largest city in Kentucky State. This city comes under the Jefferson County of Kentucky State in the United States.
According to a population survey, Louisville is the 17th largest city in the US. As per the 2006 census, the population of this city is 709,286 residents.
The city was originally a small settlement, which was founded in 1778. It was given the name ‘Louisville’ after the French King Louis XVI.
Louisville is situated at the northern limit of this area and has a subtropical humid climate. Hence, the summers are humid and hot with mild and warm evenings. The frequency of rainfall is greater than snowfall. Summer and spring are the wettest seasons. Winter lasts from January to February, and can bring occasional snowfall.
