Mishawaka is located in St Joseph County in the state of Indiana, USA. It is part of the Michiana region (northern Indiana and south-western Michigan). This city received its name in after Princess Mishawaka, daughter of Shawnee (Indian tribe) Chief Elkhart.
Economic progress of this region began with the discovery of bog iron deposits, which attracted several European immigrants to mine these deposits. Initially called St Joseph Iron Works, Mishawaka was formed from this town and three others.
The annual average temperature is around 9°C. It is best to avoid travel between the months of November and February, when snowfall is heavy.
With a population of around 46,500, most locals are engaged in commerce and industry. This region has an eclectic mix of people including Europeans and African-Americans.

The peak attractions of this place are the underwater lighting of fiber optic and elliptical shaped river race. Tourists visit the perennial garden in this park, which is 800 ft tall. Battel Park holds the historic band shelter. There is a magnificent rock garden inside this park. Tourists can enjoy recreational activities like picnic, tennis and basketball in this park. The Shiojiri Garden is a strolling garden designed in Japanese style. The park is designed in the honor of the Mishawaka's sister city Shiojiri in Japan. The Beiger Mansion is a famous bed and breakfast place for tourist. The mansion was built in 1903, while it was excellently restored in the year 1973.
