Overall Guide : Tacoma is popular mainly for it parks. Point Defiance Park is one of the largest parks in the US, occupying over 702 acres of land. Over 2 million people visit it each year. The park itself houses a number of... more interesting facilities such as Camp Six logging exhibit, Owen beach, a boathouse, Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, Fort Nishqually, a Washington State Ferries ferry-dock and a stand of old-growth forest. Many historic structures are scattered within the park, such as a pagoda standing near the park's entrance. Wright Park is an English-styled park which was designed in the late 1800s.  It houses the W. W. Seymour Botanical Conservatory and Wright Park Arboretum. Wapato Park is another major park in the city and it has a lake and a walking trail that encircles it. Titlow Beach is a famous scuba diving area.  Murray Morgan Bridge is a steel life bridge across the Waterway of Thea Foss. Fireboat No. 1 is a dry-berthed ship on a public beach nearby Tacoma’s Old Town neighborhood. Exterior of the ship is open for public viewing but interior is not accessible.
