The town of West Greenwich is situated in Kent County in Rhode Island, USA. It covers an area of 132.9 sq km and boasts a diverse landscape of hills and valleys and the Wood River which passes through it.

The town was established after European settlement began in the seventeenth century. The town progressed during the Civil War due to a rise in demand for its manufacturing goods. Today, the town has a population of around 6,000, and boasts of one of the best school systems.
The town has a humid, continental climate, with temperatures moderated by the Narragansett Bay, making it relatively warmer in winter and cooler in summer. The average summer temperature is 23°C, and in winter, the average temperature is –2°C.
Known for its fine riding trails and rural countryside, the town also offers a ski area and a ranch.
