Victoria, the capital of British Columbia, is an international tourist destination. It is the 14th largest urban area in Canada with a population of approximately 330,000 residents. Imbued with scenic beauty and rich heritage, Victoria is often referred to as the Garden City.
Victoria enjoys a sub-Mediterranean climate with mild winters and warm summers. The rain shadow effect is the reason for the less rainfall and dry sunshine in Victoria. It is blessed with greenery throughout the year because of the mild climate.

The town site of Victoria was developed in 1852 by James Douglas. It developed into a hub of trade and commerce. Today, the main occupations are tourism, technology and government administration.

The Butchart Gardens is another wonder which attracts over a million tourists a year. It gives a breath-taking display of flowering plants coupled with entertainment and lighting arrangements. Victoria also has noteworthy museums which explore its history and rich culture. The Royal British Columbia Museum is one such beautiful museum which captures the imagination of tourists.

Leggi tutto by Air from Vancouver or Seattle, or by Ferry from either place. I highly recomend visiting Victoria and Vancouver Island. Drive North to Tofino to go whale watching. On your drive, be sure to stop at Cathedral Grove, an ancient magical Redwood Forest. In Tofino, you can walk Long Beach, go surfing, or do a whale watching excursion. Vancouver Island is magical, you will leave wishing you had stayed longer.
