Eastsound is an unincorporated community located on Orcas Island in Washington USA. Situated in San Juan County with a population of around 3,800, it is the largest community of the San Juan Islands.
Located in the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains, Eastsound enjoys a temperate climate. Summers are warm and sunny with an average temperature of 18°C, while winters are mild with an average temperature of 8°C.
As the main village on the Orcas Island, Eastsound is also the commercial hub of the island. It provides several avenues for shopping, dining and sightseeing. It features the Orcas Island Historical Museum and the Farmers Market.
Its location is conducive to water sports like swimming, boating and kayaking. It has easy access to the Moran State Park and is a great point for whale watching. Nestled in scenic beauty and blessed with an inviting climate, Eastsound is a popular tourist destination.

Overall Guide : There are a lot of good tourist places in Eastsound. The popular ones being Morton’s the Steak House, the Place Bar and Grill and San Juan Vineyards. The places here are interesting and very unique, some of then being Orcas ... Leggi tutto Island Historical Museum, Sucia Island State Park, Patos Island State Park and Matia Island State Park. However, this place is home to other state parks as well. Most of the State parks here are very beautiful. Eastsound is a part of the San Juan Islands and it is physically one of the largest islands. They have a very good and nice event being hosted here since the past three years and it is called A Passport to the Arts Youth Festival. This festival is celebrated with great fun and frolic.
