Gozo is the second largest island of the group of islands that form the Republic of Malta. This island of approximately 31,000 inhabitants has a largely rural ambience. Besides a beautiful coastline and sandy beaches, the rest of the terrain is made up of craggy hilltops and lush valleys.
Gozo has a warm climate with sunny days and pleasant temperatures throughout the year. The day temperatures in winter average at 16°C. July to September is the hottest period with the temperature hovering around 30°C during the days.
Gozo is connected to Malta, the main island of the republic, only by ferries which ply regularly. A bridge connecting the two islands was not completed owing to protests from the Gozo inhabitants. The citizens of Gozo are fiercely protective of an identity unique from the rest of the country.

Overall Guide : Driving in Gozo is not as safe as one would expect. The roads are ok some are rogged turains so the buses find it very hard to give passengers a comfortable ride. The roads are much too small and the... more people who drive on them needs to be trained or go on a proper driving course the residents I mean. I'm from London and I drive a lot of very expensive cars so of course I would wanna drive whilst on Holiday. Some of the people are very rude only the hotel staff are polite. There's a supermarket close to the ferry in Gozo and I'm sure I will never shop there again if I come back to Gozo. The atmosphere is ok the weather is hot some u jus have to enjoy as much as u can.

Overall Guide : Avoid July and August . Too many people. June, September, October warm enough for swimming and sunbathing, December, February March ideal for walking.Locals very helpful and prices for holiday homes, or hotels very reasonable. Very easy to drive as traffic is... more not heavy especially in villages. Lots of historical places but low on entertainment places. Ideal place to rest band relax and enjoy nature.

Overall Guide : After coming from Ireland I found eating out in Gozo to be on a par price wise with Ireland, but I would also like to say that quality wise there is no comparison. After eating at five different restaurants the... more best by far is LA TRATTO

Overall Guide : This is a wonderful Island and a great place to really chill out and relax. Stepping off the ferry there is an immediate feeing of going back in time and there is no hustle and bustle. People are really friendly... more and if you really want a holiday free from the commercialism of the usual package destinations then go there.

Overall Guide : Relax and enjoy the long walks this time of year! Try out shopping and enjoy the the Spa Hotels! Very romantic, embraced in Nature and for those who interest themselves History and culture. Opera season is enjoyable it is even... more more particular as it seems the whole Island forms part of the scenery. Don't miss out on Gozo!!!

Overall Guide : Most gozitans know each other, and they are always talking abt what someone else did. Maybe they should look in the mirror and leave others alone, guilty or innocent.
