Overall Guide : Flic en Flac is a small fishermens’ village in the Island of Mauritius, Indian Ocean. It is far 30 kilometres from the airport of Port Luis, the capital of the Island. Its strange name probably comes from the dutch way... more of saying “freeland flat”. Today Flic en Flac is known especially for its beaches: long, white with a crystalline sea.  The city is near the Tamarine Bay, famous for dolphins. A great coral reef makes the city a paradise for who loves snorkeling and diving. The area is full of resorts and hotels.  There are also lots of shopping opportunities, thanks to different stores and malls. Mauritius Island is in the Austral emisphere, so its seasons are inverted: the best period is from May-June to September, when in Mauritius is winter. The temperature never goes over 30°, and the climate is warm, but dry.
