Buena Vista can be referred to as one of the ‘Statutory Towns’ in County of Chaffee, Colorado, US.

Buena Vista lies in Colorado’s central part; roughly mid-way between Leadville and Salida in ‘Upper Arkansas River Valley’ at the elevation of 2428 meters. The region between Salida and Buena Vista generally refers to an astonishing reality that the above-mentioned place lies in ‘wide valley’ ; apart from being a high-mountain desert; that too, with easygoing temperatures in comparison with adjacent communities like the ones on I-70 corridor. Buena Vista is situated at foot of 14000+ peaks pertaining to ‘Collegiate Peaks’, Mt. Columbia, Mt. Yale, Mt. Princeton, and, last, but not the least, Mt. Harward (of Sawatch Range).
In the summers, Buena Vista proves to be a good access point with regards to kayaking, fly fishing, and whitewater rafting on Arkansas River. In the winters, sizable deer and elk herds go on to attract loads of hunters.

The population as per 2000 census was 2195.
