The largest city in Contra Costa County, California, USA is Concord. The city was found in 1869 by Todas Santos by Salvio Pacheco, soon after the invention the name was changed to Concord within a month’s time. The centre point of downtown Concord is the Todas Santos Plaza; the place encompasses the entire city block. The main attraction of this place is the farmers market, here you would notice free summer concerts, followed by rows of surrounding restaurants. The area has been redeveloped in the past. The basic idea of re-construction or renovation was to offer new high density apartment along with some condominium projects to take an edge over the proximity to public transportation and surrounds the vibrant area taking the park along with. Being the largest city the problem of crime and homelessness remains a prime issue for the downtown area. The east and the north side of the town mainly consist of the old residential area of Concord. There you would get to see the homes which were built even before World War II. The northern side of the town is primarily the industrial area which is mainly dominated by the Tesoro Golden Eagle refinery, while the southern side of the city is located in the centre of the Clayton Road which is mainly the residential area but the main point to notice is that most of them were built in back 1960s and 1970s. The southwest of the city has the Latino neighborhood which is called as the Four Corners; it is centered exactly on the crossing or intersection of Monument Boulevard and Oak Grove Road. It is said that the Concord has been mainly a bedroom community for San Francisco and Oakland over the last forty years, but the good part of the city that has improved since a decade, are the jobs. Now there is a reasonable increase in the jobs in the city. The city has now become a strong Retail or Loose sector in the city. The city is the host of the annual Concord Jazz Festival and used to be the home for Concord Records jazz record label until it was bought in 1999. There are some very attractive places to visit in the city. To name a few there are Water world California; Sleep train Pavilion; Contra Costa Canal Trail; Brendon Theatre. They are some of the must watch places in the city. Being the most famous places in the city, the city is also home for numerous other exciting and must match places. The place is also known for its local cuisine that serves innumerable wonderful dining places starting from award-winning Italian, Mexican, Thai, Indian and Vietnamese, and American to Mediterranean, Korean, Polish, Chinese, Sushi, BBQ and European. The place does not only hosts very old places but fashions also the new and diversified culture. The place gives it a bit too every age group. Starting from white tablecloth restaurants, local favorites and family-style buffets to neighborhood spots and fast food, at all price ranges. The place where people are very fascinated to go is the well-known chain of Japanese restaurants where the chefs cook and entertain at your very table.
