Holland is a city situated in the west of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan in U.S.A. The city lies on the shores of Lake Macatawa and Lake Michigan and covers a total area of 17 sq miles. The city had a population of 34,339 as per the 2007 census. The Tulip Festival held in the city in the month of May was ranked as America’s largest town festivals. In 1930 around 250,000 tulips were planted for the occasion. The city experiences a cold climate with an average snowfall of 82 inches and 36 inches of rain annually.
January is the coldest month and July is pleasant. The city has its roots in the Dutch culture and one can see influences of Dutch architecture in many of its structures. The city has a magnificent blend of contemporary as well as traditional charm and one can find plenty to do and see here in each season.

Neil’s Dutch Village is an amusement or theme park with live animals, a wooden shoe factory, Dutch chair swings, gardens, canals and authentic Dutch architectural designs. The Outdoor Discovery Center is a natural wildlife area which covers 120 acres of land. The attractions here include the Ottawa summer village, live deer and elk, a bird sanctuary, four miles of walking trails, wind turbine and more. The Windmill Island is a botanic garden display with an authentic Dutch windmill brought here from the Netherlands. This 36 acre park is filled with manicured flower gardens and has the influence of Dutch architecture
