This city was incorporated in 1906 as a city in Orange County, California and is located 10 miles south of downtown Santa Ana.
The population of Newport Beach is about 84,554 and in the west it is bordered by Huntington Beach at the Santa Ana River, by Costa Mesa in the north, John Wayne Airport, and Irvine (including UC Irvine) and finally on the east by Crystal Cove State Park
The areas of the Newport have expanded to include Corona del Mar, Newport Coast, San Joaquin Hills, Balboa Island and Balboa Peninsula. A very scenic city it is and has figured in many televisions shows “the O.C”, “Newport Harbor: The Real Orange County” etc.
Attractions in the city include lovely beaches on the Balboa Peninsula, Corona del Mar State beach, Crystal Cove State Park in the south, Orange County Museum of Art and the Pelican Hill area having two golf courses.

This is a great surfing spot for the local residents. Crystal Cove State Park A beautiful park with 3.5 miles of beach and about 2,000 acres of not developed woodland making it a popular spot for hiking and horse riding and the offshore waters are utilized as an underwater park. A great spot for mountain bikers on land and for scuba divers underwater.
