The city of Telluride falls in San Miguel County in Colorado, USA. This city houses a population of around 2,200 and occupies an area of close to 2 sq km. This region was initially inhabited by the Ute Indians; the Europeans settled here later following the discovery of gold in 1858. The town was incorporated in 1878.
The topography of this small city is stunningly captivating. From mountains and forests to waterfalls and rivers, there is a wide variety of natural wonders. Some of the outstanding geographical landmarks are the San Juan Mountains, Bridal Veil Falls and River San Miguel.
The city also boasts a pleasant climate. The average maximum temperature during the summers is around 12°C, and the average minimum temperature during the winters is around 0°C. The economy of Telluride is dependent on its tourism industry, mainly its highly popular ski resorts.

Overall Guide : A place called Sheridan Bar is known for its drinks and very good crowd. There is a museum which is very informative and educative and it also has a variety of displays. This museum is called Telluride Historical Museum. Montrose,... more Cortez and Denver are few places that are close to Telluride. Telluride is a part of the county San Miguel. The cities that are close to Telluride are Mountain Village, Ophir, Ouray and Silverton.   There are a lot of festivals that are celebrated all year long. However, the most anxiously awaited events are Winter Snow Fest Carnival, The Telluride Bluegrass festival and Telluride Mushroom Festival.   The Winter Snow Fest Carnival is held in the month of January, the Telluride Bluegrass Festival is held in June and Telluride Mushroom festival is held in the month of August.
