Folgaria is a lively and attractive village. The Main attraction in Folgaria is skiing, with people from all over coming to Folgaria to ski. . There are many ski circuits dotting Folgaria .One of the famous ones is “Skitour dei Forti”. It is a circuit that runs along the Trentino Plateau. This circuit provides around 53 km of ski runs. It has 9 ski lifts and around a total of 50 km of cross-country runs. It is a true heaven for skiing, snowboarding, ski touring, tobogganing, ice skating. Skiing in Folgaria offers wide range of trails for skiing. Most of these are blue and reds but there are several black runs for the benefit of more advanced skiers. All the runs are connected by a free bus service which the skiers can avail of. Folgaria is able to augment natural snow, snow making covers almost the whole system and you can also find a new skating rink, which is great fun for youngsters. It is the perfect place to learn to ski for rank beginners. The international Nordic ski race has been taking place every year since last 20 years at the Millegrobbe Centre. Everyone can take part in the race provided they are 18yrs or above 18 yrs. of age. Summer turns Folgaria into a well-liked and a very popular holiday destination. Hoards of tourist descend every year to enjoy all the snow activities. A number of sports and leisure activities await you. There are lovely walks to be had past colorful meadows, woods and lakes. For the sports buff there are many sporting facilities. The Botanic Gardens of Passo Coe are worth a visit. They have a rich flora and fauna .The Folgaria high plateau makes you indulge into its eventful history. The Jurassic Snow Park at Malga Rivetta is a must visit place for all snow boarders. It is very interestingly set up with interesting hurdles. The snow boarders will have a field day trying out the runs .For the history buffs there is the Sommo Alto Fort. The fort was built in early 1900’s. Until a few years ago it was possible to visit the inside too but now it is closed. This fort has stood witness to the Great War and it is still very interesting to look around. The view from the fort’s top is wonderful. Castel Beseno is another fort worth a visit. It captures the visitor’s attention as it’s very majestic. Along with that the ambiance totally captivates the visitors, as there are various exhibitions, costume displays and varied cultural events that are organized. The fort bears testimony to wars that it has withstood. Once it also boasted of a drawbridge at the main entrance .Yet another place of interest is the Museum of Modern and contemporary Art. The building itself is a wonderful example of great architecture. Those who enjoy modern art can spend the entire day admiring the display. Sensible walking shoes that are easy on the feet are highly recommended. Most importantly do remember to pack enough warm clothes on your trip.
