Port El Kantaoui is a purpose built holiday resort in central Tunisia. Developed in 1979, the resort is popular with European tourists.
Port El Kantaoui has a Mediterranean climate. It has hot dry summers and cool rainy winters.
The average temperature between May and October is 19-26C, with August generally being the hottest month of the year. During the winter months, rain is frequent with the temperature around 10-13C.

Designed in a traditional Tunisian style, the resort is a charming white and blue village. It has a beautifully reproduced medina, cobblestone streets and spectacular marina.

Overall Guide : The architecture, although modern is modelled on traditional Tunisian styles. The village is a maze of narrow streets and arches. The hotels that line the beachfront extend to the town of Sousse. Enjoy an evening of traditional Tunisian entertainment ... Leggi tutto at a Bedouin feast. After sampling local delicacies, take part in some Bedouin culture as dancers, acrobats, horsemen and belly dancers provide the entertainment. There is a 36-hole PGA approved championship Golf course at Port El Kantaoui, which makes this a popular golfing destination. Take a boat trip from the marina aboard the pirate galleons Aziza or Jalila. Setting sail along the coastline you can spot dolphins and enjoy onboard barbeques. Also available are the fascinating glass-bottomed boat tours and fishing excursions. A ten minute difference separates Port El Kantaoui from the historic city of Sousse. Visit the medina here which hosts a number of colourful shops, also worth visiting are the Great Mosque, the museum and the towering Ribat.

Overall Guide : I've been here many times and shall be going again next week (14/04/13) so that should say a lot. Use the prices at the hotel shop as a guide to the maximum you should pay for anything when haggling. Start ... Leggi tutto at about 1/3 of the price asked in the shops outside and expect to go to about 1/2 to 2/3. It's a quiet place and Muslim so do not expect lots of bars at night with alcohol flowing free. There is an off licence near the entrance to the marina...it is NOT open on Friday!! Of course you can have a drink in any hotel. Entertainment is (to me) the way it used to be when I was a child and nicer for it. Very much like the parlour entertainment. English is widely spoken and if stuck use your schoolboy French. It will take you a long way.

Overall Guide : We have been to Port El Kantaoui forthe past 8 years. We love it and the people are really nice and we feel very safe when we go out in the evenings.
