Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, my trip into africa strts here. It is a city somewhat representative of Africa standing somewhere between new and old, poverty and luxury. In the weathy expatriate and indian community of West Gate new shiny hotels and fancy bars open up. If you go north towards towards uhuru forest the landscape changes abruptly, you enter kibera the second largest slum in Africa. A green rich vegetation surrounds the city and in traits comes inn. The center is the main shopping area, a cluster of dirty roads have a shop on every millimiter, selling tea, matoke or ugali (local starch foods that have a great capacity to fill you up). I wanted to visit the national park just next to the airport where you can see Giraffes and Elephants a really incredible experience for the first time. Nairobi has its hidden charms but as soon as I discover them I have to leave, next stop Mombasa.
